Paul Allen's Vulcan Inc. launched the Great Elephant Census earlier this year in partnership withElephants Without Borders. Why count elephants? Having accurate and reliable data about elephant population numbers and migration patterns is needed to form long-term conservation management plans. 

Great Elephant CensusThe census will take two years to complete and one of our goals is to ignite conversation and generate awareness along the way. Here are a few of the ways to stay connected to this project.

new website dedicated completely to the census launched this week. It covers who, what, why, and most importantly, offers a view into the day-to-day work being done by the researchers with notes “From the Field. Check out the first few blog posts and watch for regular updates.
